Quality Programming?

I was just commenting to my husband earlier tonight how, these days, kids' movies are made so that the adults who have to watch them can actually enjoy them.  I reference movies such as Shrek or Cars (hehe, tractor tipping).  Anyway, so, the Kid and I watched a movie tonight and I must say . . .

This movie?  Not one of those.

The main villains were Loni Anderson as "Medusa" (and she spent some of her screen time in a nun costume, of all things) and Jim Varney as "Lothor"  (lame-o evil villain name?  Check!), accompanied by the typical inept sidekicks, a "Jamaican" with a ridiculously poor accent, and a smattering of ninjas, none of whom looked even remotely Asian.  The heros were Hulk Hogan as "Dave Dragon" (wearing red tights), and a group of caucasian kids whose ninja training by their Japanese grandfather allowed them to beat up the adult villainous ninjas without hardly breaking a sweat.  Oh, and of course, the kids managed to save the day when the FBI and the SWAT couldn't.

I tell you, not the most entertaining 90 minutes I've had recently.

In other news, I spent most of my day painting my basement and thinking up plot points for fan fiction while I did so.  I only have one more room to paint and that'll be that . . . until we get started on trim and flooring *grumbles*

Well, it was an old DVD from 1998 -- 3 Ninjas and something about Mega Mountain -- given to her (she's 8 1/2) by a friend, so at least I didn't spend money on it, lol. And she probably would like Wolverine.

Eight and a half? Then I must recommend "Drop Dead Fred." I think every kid should see that. And "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Yep :D
