One of those real lifey type posts

My husband has been mountain biking for, well, if I tell you how long, you'll realize how much older than me he really is . . .

Let's just say, a long time. I've started up the past couple of years riding with him and today we did a 4 hour ride that was chall-en-ging. I'm not nearly in the shape I was ten years ago, but I'm pretty proud of myself for how well I did today. There was a tone of up hill, and I surpassed my goal of how many of the hills I was going to ride (I said half ride, half walk - I rode at least two thirds of them), and did really well (according to the man who loves me) riding down - which isn't as easy as it sounds.

Up until today, the trail I've ridden with the best name is Buggered Pig. Well, today we did Bucket of Blood. Great name, and let me tell you, pretty accurate. The uphill was gruelling, to put it mildly.

(snickering at current music) contagious, isn't it?
Where are you now?

I'm moving, so my presence online will be sporadic at best. I might not have access to IM till thursday, but I'll be checking my e-mail and LJ. That much I can accomplish on my phone.

Lol, yep. When I'm not actually listening to anything, I just pick whatever song (if there is one) that happens to be playing in my head, and since I had just opened up NS to start working on it, my choice was easy!

I just finished Kyp's conversation with Tenel Ka.

Figures that you won't be on until Thursday. I go back to work Wednesday!

Holy jeez! The names are, er, intimidating! *quakes* hahah And YAY for beating your goals. Such a great feeling.

Those are probably the most intimidating sounding ones. . . the others are just interesting (such as Bear Bum - yes, bear, not bare - or Two & A Juice).

My husband used to do the serious mountain biking thing, whereas I haven't even been on a bike in over 10 years! Go, you!

And what is it about trail names? I hiked one in Maryland called the "Billy Goat Trail"; turns out, it's only suitable for ACTUAL billy goats. I found myself clinging to a cliff face halfway through. You're very brave. ;D

Yep, the names sure are entertaining and often quite appropriate! I don't do super hard-core stuff (my husband doesn't do the ridiculous stuff either), just enough for a good challenge.
