Pies, Writing, and Life in General

#1 - Totally, completely, utterly writer's blocked.  It'll pass of course -- but I had a recent window of time where I wrote a TON and now I'm on the down swing.

#2 - I've reached the end of my prepared monster drabbles for good__evil .  Now I'm going to have to actually come up with them daily, unless #1 decides to resolve.

#3 - It's almost 11pm and what am I doing?  Baking a peach pie.

#4 - It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada.  Tomorrow, I'm making pumpkin pies and other things while my husband cooks the bird.  Now why does that sound dirty?

#5 - I am so FREAKING nauseous.  And it's been ALL DAY.  For no good reason.  And I'd like it to stop now, kay?

#6 - My kid wants to be a "kick-ass vampire chick" for Halloween.  How cool is that?  I already found her an awesome faux-leather jacket that'll rock with that costume.

#7 - My husband is text messaging me from work.  I'm loving our new phones.

#8 -  My kitchen is a mess.  Not looking forward to tackling that before bed.

#9 - I know why Spike likes wearing his duster so much.  It's really cool when it billows around your legs as you walk.  Even if you are walking the halls at work at 3am and your duster is actually a hospital-issue housecoat.

# 10 - There is a distinct possibility that I am a nerd.  See #9.

ETA: #11 - My pastry is not cooperating.

I'm sitting here making beaded lanyards to sell on ebay. (I sold about 10 or more in my tiny hospital over the last month, so I think it indeed might be profitable) When I'm finished with the current bunch, I'm going to post the photos in my LJ as well. Take your pick. :)

It's nice to have a hobby that occasionally pays off. I feel guilty about neglecting my writing, though. But hell... I need money and I'm not being paid for it.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:15 am (UTC)
God, it's been forever since I've talked to you. Did you get my request to add you to my other yahoo account? Or have you just not been online much?

And I feel bad about me neglecting your writing, too.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:20 am (UTC)
No, I hasn't gotten any requests. I wondered where you disappeared to, but just thought that RL got you hard and fast. :)
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:26 am (UTC)
add townzell [at] yahoo.com

Trillian's been idiotic lately so I've just been using yahoo, but I have more contacts that I talk to on townzell than princess.

Addd (dubiously) I think. Miranda has been acting strangely lately too, so I practically moved to Skype. And since you're just about the only person out of my friends who doesn't have a skype account, I think I'll just erase it and get YM back... it's not worth the trouble anymore.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:22 am (UTC)
About my writing
No sweat. As you can guess, it's not moving very fast right now. :)
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:15 am (UTC)
Oh, and about Thanksgiving. I think your time for it is actually better than over here - here it's practically a winter holiday, and for me it doesn't have that feel.

Now I want a stuffed turkey, of course. Thank you very much. :S
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:17 am (UTC)
I'd send you some in the mail, except I don't think it would be terribly tasty when it arrived. I agree about the timing, though. Farther away from Christmas and it has more of an autumn feel to things when it's in October.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:25 am (UTC)
Oh, and about nausea. I had that some weeks ago. Terrible. I was throwing up the entire shift. As a result I quit smoking (well, so far so good) and asked one of our docs to give me a script for Phenergan. Nausea got scared and disappeared. :) I haven't even filled it yet.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:28 am (UTC)
LOL. No vomiting, thank god. Just all-day queasy and kind of flushed-feeling. It's most annoying, but yeah, it could be worse.
Oct. 11th, 2009 08:32 am (UTC)
1.I hope the writer's block won't last.
3. It happened to me, that odd baking hour ;)
4. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
5. Feel better , as to properly enjoy your meal today
9. I'm totally convinced.:)
Oct. 12th, 2009 03:56 am (UTC)
I hope it doesn't last, either!

I said I'd bake the pie last night, I just couldn't get motivated until then!

It was good but I could hardly eat anything and I still feel queasy. Uck.

Oh yeah. I need me a coat like that.
Oct. 11th, 2009 03:21 pm (UTC)
#1--Write or Die. When I have major writer's block (like I do now), I head over there (which I haven't yet), cause it gets me to write fictitious words. Yep.

#3--Ooh...I want some! :(

#6--Don't forget her stake! :D

#9--Oh yeah--you look wicked bad ass, especially when the wind blows (or be all model like and create your own wind). I bought one for myself on my 21st. It's missing a button a cuff which sucks balls, but it's still an awesome coat.
Oct. 12th, 2009 03:58 am (UTC)
I might have to take that advice. Words aren't my friend today and I really want them to be.

It's delicious. I'd send you some except I don't think it would still be delicious when it got to you.

Ooh...vampire slaying vampire chick? That might be cool.

I don't imagine I looked too wicked bad ass in my hospital housecoat, but I was pretending I did. Maybe I should find me a nice coat :D
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:00 am (UTC)
Wow, a kickass vampire chick...I misread that. However, a vampire slaying vampire chick would also be cool. At any rate, make sure she has awesome fangs :D

And hey--fall's here. A nice coat would also be cool ;)
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:07 am (UTC)
I could always have her be Buffy... which would require blonde hair dye instead of the copper red we were going to do...

Ah, the possibilities.

I'd love a nice coat, except so many more things require my money. *cries*
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:08 am (UTC)
Copper red sounds awesome.

And um...birthday? Christmas?

Or you know, don't listen to me cause I'm terribly, terribly irresponsible with my monies.
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:11 am (UTC)
You never know, if I happen upon a nice coat I might be able to manage the second one of those!

I'd like to be terribly irresponsible with money sometimes. It would be so much fun...until it wasn't, lol
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:16 am (UTC)
Yeah, it kind of isn't for me right now, and yet I still plan these ridiculous, irresponsible trips :P I will probably be in debt until I die.

Meh :p
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:16 am (UTC)
Hey, but you'll have had fun in the meantime, right?
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:17 am (UTC)
Ah, yes.

That is, all a part of my sinister plan of irresponsibility and procrastination, after all :D
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:18 am (UTC)
Oooh! You can be the Supreme Procrastinator (that's like a Supreme Commander, only way cooler).
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:21 am (UTC)
I don't know of this Supreme Commander, and I probably sound like a dumbass for admitting that and stuff...

But the Supreme Procrastinator does sound cool. And I already have my "mysterious/is she evil or not?" black leather coat!

Yeah, I should get an icon for that...
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:25 am (UTC)
The supreme commander isn't anything specific (at least, I don't think it is - if so, then we're both stumped).

And yes, yes, the coat is essential for the Supreme Procrastinator.

And yes, yes you should.

And I will still make that Wicked Awesome icon one of these days...
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:27 am (UTC)
I really do suck at iconing :( But maybe like a month from now when it's my birthday I can ask someone. At the moment, I think I've exhausted my iconing contacts :p

And yes--yes you should.
Oct. 12th, 2009 04:49 am (UTC)
Don't want to put too much strain on your iconing contacts, no. If I was better at it, I'd try, but I'm really not!
Oct. 12th, 2009 03:51 am (UTC)
I love dusters for that reason too!
Oct. 12th, 2009 03:59 am (UTC)
They are very cool, aren't they?
