All I can say is...

GOLD, baby.

Edited to add:  I'm not intending to "rub it in" to any of my American f-list hockey fans -- I'm just really proud of my country and it was a fantastic game for both sides.

How DARE you be happy your country's team won?! I am OUTRAGED.

Congratulations! That was a simply incredible game. Fantastic effort from both sides.

I know, I'm THAT ridonkulous!

Now that I can breathe...it WAS a fantastic game, wasn't it? I could have done without the tying goal at 24 seconds left in the third, but I'll take the OT win! I'm so happy to be Canadian right now :)

I hope I didn't spoil you! I imagine it would be a difficult thing not to overhear anyway. And it wasn't really a behind-whipping -- it was a very good game.

Nah! It was the first thing that popped up when I opened Yahoo this afternoon. No worries. BTW I love your new icon.

Good! I'd hate to be the one who told you first...

Thanks on the icon :) I was playing around with photo shop and decided I liked this.

It's The Kid, isn't it? When I first saw it I thought, 'Oh, some kind of Yeti dancing on a hill in the sun. How happy!'

Yep, it's the Kid. I called the icon "The Fool on the Hill".

Congrats! Gold is always good. I somehow missed all the excitement with these Olympics, but in my defense it's hard to *believe* in good old Santa *or* winter Olympics in our climate. :)

For me, it's been easy to follow, mostly because I LIVE in BC, have watched hockey in that arena, seen sporting events and concerts in the same stadium as the opening ceremonies, snowboarded on Whistler... This is my HOME and that's been an added inspiration to follow along. We've done so well and it's been easy to become swept up in the excitement.

That's very understandable. I'm cheering up... as long as you'll excuse my babbling when the tennis clay season is on. :)

Edit for a proper u-pic. :)

Oh of course I'll forgive you -- did you really have to ask? LOL.

Congrats!!! It's a game, and I treat them as such, to the best goes the gold, and they won it :D
Never apologize for being proud of an acomplishment or being loyal! You know we'd be all proud and loud about it, so should you. I was at a sports bar/pool hall playing league pool while it was playing on the big screen. It got SO loud when the tie happened. Everyone was watching between shots etc, cheering USA on. It got real quiet when y'all won LOL It was a great game!

I watched the game from my bed, lol -- going on two hours of sleep post-night shift! It got very loud in a different way when Kessler tied the game with 24 seconds left on the clock! That would have been an exciting game to watch in a pool hall, though!

Congrats!! What a great way to end the Olympics for you! :D

I was actually hoping Canada would win! Didn't feel any warm fuzzies towards the team USA after the way they "slaughtered" our Lions... :P Wow, what a roller-coaster ride this tournament was for us Finns. I'm really glad they still managed to get the bronze in the end. *is amazed she has any nails left*

Hey, Bronze is an awesome accomplishment! Thanks for the vote in our favour :D
