Help me, f-list

I need the name of a really good brand of Scotch -- something Giles might drink and Spike would know.

Balvenie, Glenlivet, Ardbeg. Glenfiddick to name a few. Any good 12 year old single malt scotch whisky will do well. After that it's all a matter of taste. Hope this helps.

Yes, yes thank you. Not being a connoisseur myself, I couldn't even Google and trust that I'd picked a good brand. Thank you!

Glad to help. Look forward to reading your story.

Ooops, just realised that I spelt Glenfiddich wrong. If you want a truly special scotch you could use

Ardbeg Lord of the Isles
25 year old
from Islay
£349.99 (£297.86 ex VAT)

I actually caught that myself -- on reading it on your initial reply I thought I had heard of it before but that it was a "ch" not a "ck". Google is my friend.

I'll keep that special one in mind maybe for something else. This particular time I just really need a name that's recognizable. It's not being consumed, just mentioned in passing. Thanks!

Yeah, Glenfiddich is the only Scotch brand I know off the top of my head, but I have no idea what its quality is. My Scotch drinking experiences are limited (because it's GROSS, OMFG) and, uh, a little fuzzy 'round the edges when I try to recall them.

That sounds very similar to my tequilla drinking experiences...

Talisker, 25 year-old. There's a scotch old enough to order it's own scotch.

Thanks :)

Sorry I'm late. If you can use it - good scotch would be Languvulin or Macallan [18 year old].

Late, but it's always good info. Thanks!
